NYT Spelling Bee 12-7-20 final

Hello from Day 19 of the current California COVID constant curfew. Today the lockdown officially begins. While everyone must be indoors, Los Angeles Department of Transportation is not suspending enforcement of the street sweeping.

I tried to get all the way to Queen Bee, and I feel like I’m close. But I just can’t spend any more time on it and get this post out in time.

Yesterday I missed one of the pangrams. It was arguably the easier of the two: ANYTIME.

I also missed ENTITY, INITIATE, INMATE, INNIE, MINIM, though I could have sworn I’d gotten that word, MITTEN, TANNIN, TINNY, TITAN.

Meatier misses

Shame on me for missing MINYAN. On second thought, the last time I was involved in any minyan was February or March.

Today’s summary

Final score: 40 words for 169 points.
Genius minimum: 123 points.
First word: CHIPPED
Pangram: HEADPIECE

About raabidfun

I'm a guy living the #raabidfun lifestyle. I figured I would create a blog about crossword puzzles I do. The idea is to do the NYT crossword and the WSJ crossword daily as much as I can. That includes when I don't finish and have clearly failed. They can be difficult. Also I am not an attorney, and any legal analysis in this blog reflects my interpretation, which means it can be flawed and should not be relied upon for use in legal matters (especially against me).
