NYT Spelling Bee 1-8-21 final

Hello from Day 50 of the current California COVID constant curfew. At 10am, there’s still a lot of confusion as to what’s going to happen in Washington.

Yesterday I had thought I was like a word or two off of Queen Bee, but that was incorrect. I missed by three words.

I probably should have gotten CONIC. I got ICONIC. I could have gotten the non-Mac version, too.

Meatier Misses

CHIGNON: A knot or coil of hair arranged on the back of a woman’s head.

Once again, reading my blog is entertaining (debatable) and informative.

CIOPPINO: An Italian American stew of seafood cooked with tomatoes and wine.

Photo of a serving big enough just for one… because they’re shellfish.

Today’s summary

Final score: 26 words for 107 points.
Genius minimum: 92 points.
First word: HOOF.
Pangram: OFFHANDED.

About raabidfun

I'm a guy living the #raabidfun lifestyle. I figured I would create a blog about crossword puzzles I do. The idea is to do the NYT crossword and the WSJ crossword daily as much as I can. That includes when I don't finish and have clearly failed. They can be difficult. Also I am not an attorney, and any legal analysis in this blog reflects my interpretation, which means it can be flawed and should not be relied upon for use in legal matters (especially against me).
