NYT Spelling Bee 10-7-21 final

After 365 days of at least one post a day (though frequently more than one post a day), I’m on to year 2. Thanks for joining me for this ride!

Today has been gloomy, and it’s supposed to rain overnight about 0.05″. It’s enough to make everything slick and dangerous.

Yesterday I missed CACTI, LILT, TACTIC, TACT, TALI, TIDAL, and WATT.

Meatier Misses

DICTA: Plural of dictum-A formal pronouncement from an authoritative source.
DIDACT/DIDACTIC: Intended to teach, particularly in having moral instruction as an ulterior motive.
TWILIT: Dimly illuminated by or as if by twilight. Here because the shortened days mean the shift in when twilight rates at the golf courses start. You know, they charge less later in the day because you probably won’t finish, and it gets cold, so maybe you don’t wanna.

Today’s summary

Letters: RGNOPTU
Final score: 36 words for 121 points.
Genius minimum: 120 points.
First word: PRONTO.
Pangram: NOPE!

About raabidfun

I'm a guy living the #raabidfun lifestyle. I figured I would create a blog about crossword puzzles I do. The idea is to do the NYT crossword and the WSJ crossword daily as much as I can. That includes when I don't finish and have clearly failed. They can be difficult. Also I am not an attorney, and any legal analysis in this blog reflects my interpretation, which means it can be flawed and should not be relied upon for use in legal matters (especially against me).
