hello wordl 4-30-23 (contains spoilers)

I finished this one in three. It’s my first finish in three in two days. The last time I got a three was Friday, April 28.

Analysis:

Welcome back to another Wordle blog post! Today is Sunday, April 30, and the word of the day was TYING. I managed to solve the puzzle in just three guesses!

My first guess was GRIFT, which gave me the information that the letter “I” was in the right place. This led me to try the word THIGH as my second guess, which gave me the letters “T” and “I” in the right places. With this information, I was able to correctly guess the word on my third try with the word TYING!

It’s always a great feeling to solve the puzzle with only a few guesses. It’s also satisfying to end the month of April with a successful solve. I’m excited to see what May has in store for us and what new words we’ll get to guess.

That’s all for today’s blog post. See you next time with another exciting Wordle puzzle!

I finished this one in four. It’s my first finish in four in two days. The last time I got a four was Thursday, April 27.

Analysis:

Welcome back to another Wordle blog post! Today’s word was THUMB, and I managed to solve it in just four guesses.

My first guess was GRIFT, but the only letter it had in common with the answer was the T, which was in the wrong place. My second guess was TODAY, which revealed that the letter T was in the correct position. For my third guess, I tried TENSE, but it didn’t provide any new information.

Finally, for my fourth guess, I went with THUMB, and it turned out to be the correct word! It’s interesting to note that at that point, the only vowel left was U, so I didn’t have many options to choose from.

Overall, it was a satisfying solve, and I’m looking forward to seeing what tomorrow’s word will be. See you then!

I finished this one in three. It’s my first finish in three in 16 days. The last time I got a three was Wednesday, April 12.

Analysis:

Happy Friday, Wordle fans! Today’s word was STAID, and I’m happy to report that I solved it in just three guesses. My first guess was GRIFT, which didn’t have any correct letters in the right place. My second guess was TILDE, which only had one correct letter in the right place. Finally, on my third guess, I landed on STAID, and was rewarded with a satisfying green circle.

It’s always nice to solve the puzzle in fewer guesses, especially after yesterday’s longer solve. This is actually the first time I’ve solved the puzzle in exactly three guesses since April 12th, so it feels like a bit of a victory.

It’s always satisfying to solve the Wordle in fewer guesses, but sometimes it just doesn’t happen. However, the important thing is to keep playing and keep challenging yourself. It’s a fun way to exercise your brain and improve your vocabulary.

I also like that today’s word was STAID. It’s not a word that I use often in conversation, but it’s a good reminder to keep things steady and reliable. In a world that can be chaotic and unpredictable, sometimes it’s nice to have a little staidness in our lives.

Looking forward to tomorrow’s Wordle and seeing what new word I’ll have to solve!

I finished this one in four. It’s my second finish in four in a row. The last time I got a four was Wednesday, April 26.

Analysis:

Welcome back to the daily Wordle blog! Today’s word was “GREED” and I was able to solve it in just four guesses.

My first guess was “GRIFT”, which gave me the satisfaction of seeing two letters in the right place. It also gave me some initial hope that I might be able to guess the word in just a couple more tries.

However, my second guess of “GRUMP” didn’t provide any new information, which made me a little nervous. I needed to make sure that I was focusing on the right set of letters.

My third guess was “GRAND”, which was a step in the right direction since it revealed that the letters G, R, and D were all in the correct positions.

Finally, my fourth guess of “GREED” was the right answer. It felt good to have guessed the word in only a few tries and I was happy to add another win to my tally.

It’s interesting how certain words can evoke different emotions, and “GREED” is one of those words that often brings up negative associations. However, when it comes to the Wordle game, it’s all about trying to find the right combination of letters, no matter what the word means.

Thanks for reading and I hope you join me again tomorrow for another exciting round of Wordle!

I finished this one in four. It’s my first finish in four in two days. The last time I got a four was Monday, April 24.

Analysis:

Welcome back to the Wordle blog! Today’s puzzle word was BLEND, and I managed to solve it in just four guesses. Let me tell you all about it!

My first guess was GRIFT, but unfortunately, it didn’t have any letters in common with the answer. My second guess was BLOWN, and I was happy to see that the letters B and L were in the right places. However, the letter N was in the wrong place.

For my third guess, I tried BLAND. I was pleased to see that the letters B, L, N, and D were all in the right places. At this point, I knew that the word started with BL and ended with ND. But what could be the vowel in the middle?

I took a moment to consider my options before making my fourth and final guess: BLEND. And to my relief, it turned out to be the correct answer.

I couldn’t help feeling a bit annoyed, though, that the word was just one vowel different from my previous guess. If only I had guessed BLEND on my third try, I could have solved the puzzle in just three guesses! But that’s how it goes with Wordle – sometimes you get lucky, and sometimes you don’t.

That’s it for today’s Wordle blog post. I hope you enjoyed reading about my solving process, and I’ll see you again tomorrow with a new puzzle word to tackle!

I finished this one in five. It’s my first finish in five in three days. The last time I got a five was Saturday, April 22.

Analysis:

Welcome back to another edition of the daily Wordle blog! Today’s puzzle was a bit of a challenge, but I managed to solve it in five guesses. The word was DAISY, and it took a bit of effort to uncover.

My first guess was GRIFT, which gave me the letter “I” in the correct position, but unfortunately, it didn’t lead me much further. My second guess was SHINE, which revealed that the letter “I” was in the right place, but the letter “S” was in the wrong position.

For my third guess, I tried BLISS, which helped me locate both “I” and “S” in the correct positions. However, I still needed to figure out the remaining letters.

My fourth guess was AVISO, which taught me that there was an “A” in the word, but it was in the wrong place. This guess didn’t bring me much closer to solving the puzzle, but it helped me eliminate some possibilities.

Finally, on my fifth and final guess, I tried DAISY, and to my delight, it was the correct answer!

Overall, it was a fun and challenging puzzle. I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s puzzle and hope to solve it in even fewer guesses. Until then, happy puzzling!

I finished this one in four. It’s my second finish in four in a row. The last time I got a four was Sunday, April 23.

Analysis:

Welcome back to the daily Wordle blog post! Today’s puzzle word was LOFTY, and it was a bit of a challenge, but I managed to solve it in just four guesses.

My first guess was GRIFT, which turned out to be incorrect, with both F and T in the wrong places. Next, I tried FATED, which also didn’t help me much, with F and T still in the wrong positions.

For my third guess, I went with TOFUS, and while it didn’t reveal any correct letters in the correct positions, it did give me some valuable information. Specifically, the letters O and F were both in the right positions, which allowed me to narrow down the possibilities for my next guess.

Finally, on my fourth guess, I went with LOFTY, and I was delighted to find that I had solved the puzzle! It’s always a great feeling to figure out the puzzle word, and I especially appreciated the fact that today’s word had a connection to my personal life.

Yesterday, I played golf, and golf clubs have a feature called “loft,” which refers to the angle of the club face that helps lift the ball into the air. It was a nice coincidence that today’s puzzle word also had the word “loft” in it.

Overall, I’m happy with my solve today, and I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s puzzle word. Tune in tomorrow for the next installment of the Wordle blog post!

Analysis:

Welcome to another edition of the Wordle blog post! Today’s word was ACTOR, and I’m happy to say that I managed to solve it in just four guesses.

My first guess was GRIFT, but it didn’t reveal any of the correct letters in the word. Moving on, I guessed TERSE, but unfortunately, it didn’t reveal any letters either. I was starting to get a bit nervous at this point, as I really wanted to solve the puzzle today.

For my third guess, I tried the word ROTOR, and it revealed that the letters T, O, and R were in the right places. That gave me some confidence, as I knew that the word had to end in “OR”.

Finally, on my fourth and final guess, I went with ACTOR, and was delighted to see that it was the correct answer! It’s always such a great feeling when you manage to solve the puzzle, especially when you’ve been struggling with it.

I finished this one in five. It’s my first finish in five in two days. The last time I got a five was Wednesday, April 19.

Analysis:

Welcome back to another daily Wordle blog post! Today’s puzzle word was PLEAD, and it took me a total of five guesses to solve it.

As usual, my first guess was GRIFT, but unfortunately, it didn’t reveal any of the correct letters. For my second guess, I tried CHUMP, which gave me the letter P in the word but it was in the wrong place.

For my third guess, I went with POSEY, which revealed that the letter P was in the right place, but the letter E was not. Moving on to my fourth guess, I tried PENAL, which was a good guess as it revealed that both the letters P and A were in the right places, but the letters E and L were not.

Finally, on my fifth guess, I correctly guessed PLEAD, completing the puzzle. It’s always a great feeling to finally crack the code and solve the puzzle!

It’s interesting to note how the number of guesses it takes to solve the puzzle can vary from day to day. Yesterday I solved it in just two guesses, but today it took me five. This goes to show that every puzzle is unique, and sometimes it just takes a little bit more effort to solve it.

With today’s solve, my average number of guesses per solve for the year so far is sitting at exactly 4. I can’t wait to see what tomorrow’s puzzle will bring, and how many guesses it will take me to solve it.

First finish in two since Thursday, March 16. That’s 36 days between twos. The prior gap dated back to Wednesday, February 1, or 43 days between finishes in two.

Analysis:

I’m happy to report that I solved today’s Wordle puzzle in just two guesses! My first guess was GRIFT, which gave me some good information – the R and T were in the right positions, but the I was in the wrong position. Armed with this knowledge, I made my second guess: TRAIT. And I was right!

This marks my ninth solve of the year in exactly two guesses. I always feel pretty proud of myself when I can get a Wordle solve in two guesses, because it means I’m making good use of the information that the puzzle is giving me. The last time I managed to get a solve in exactly two guesses was on March 16, which is the anniversary of my engagement. Today is 36 days since then, so it’s been a little while!

It’s interesting to me how these little daily puzzles can become such a fun and satisfying part of my routine. I look forward to seeing what each day’s puzzle will be, and trying to figure it out as quickly as possible. I also appreciate that the creator of the puzzle mixes things up – some days the words seem to have a theme or a certain vibe to them, and other days they’re totally random. It keeps things interesting!

Anyway, I’m feeling pretty good about my Wordle skills today. Here’s hoping I can keep up the streak of quick solves!
