I finished this one in five. It’s my first finish in five in three days. The last time I solved the puzzle in five guesses was Saturday, May 13.
Analysis:
Welcome back to the Wordle blog! Today is Monday, May 15, and the word to be guessed is FINER. Our solver today is one individual who managed to crack the code in five guesses.
The first guess was GRIFT, which provided three letters–R, I, and F–but they were all in the wrong places. The second guess was RIFLE, which placed the I in the correct spot, uncovered the presence of the letter E, but still had R, F, and E in the wrong positions.
The third guess didn’t yield any progress, but the fourth guess of FIBER revealed that F, I, E, and R were all in the right positions, but the middle letter remained a mystery. Finally, on the fifth guess, the word FINER was correctly guessed.
Even though it took five guesses to find the answer, it’s still an impressive feat. Keep in mind that the goal is to solve the puzzle in as few guesses as possible, with six being the maximum number of guesses allowed. Let’s see what tomorrow’s puzzle brings.
