NYT Crossword Puzzle 11-17-21 Complete (contains spoilers)

I pulled out 36A One of 12 on a die: EDGE because I have been dealing with this while making cutting boards. I put a chamfer on the edges of the cutting boards to make them easier to handle. If you’re unfamiliar with the term chamfer, think bevel. There are a lot of edges, and it’s important to get all of them to kick out a product of good quality.

Theme!

Since the answers are long and span many clues, I’ll start with the clue theme and then spell out the answers.

NYT Crossword Puzzle 8-10-21 Complete (contains spoilers)

I pulled out 68A _-Ida, maker of Tater Tots: ORE because I had been under the impression that they were only in Idaho and that potatoes were what they considered to be their ore. Turns out that’s not it at all.

Discover Ore-Ida

Since our humble beginnings over 60 years ago. Ore-Ida has brought you the very best potato dishes in America-from crispy, golden fries to the world famous Tater Tot Potatoes, a 100% Ore-Ida invention. That’s because the best food always starts with best ingredients. And we’re lucky enough to be surrounded by the finest potato farms in the Pacific Northwest: the heart of potato growing country.

In fact, the name Ore-Ida comes from combining “Oregon” and “Idaho.” That’s how proud we are of this land we call home and the passionate people are called “neighbor”.

Welcome to the state of Ore-Ida.
